Interlibrary Loans
Interlibrary Loan will obtain books, audio books, articles and other library material not owned by or missing from the Jakobstad City Library collections from outside libraries.
Your ILL Request will be handled by the library personnel. The Library will let you know when the book has arrived.
You need a valid Jakobstad City Library card to make an interlibrary loan request.
How do I request materials?
- Interlibrary Loan request forms are available at the Library Information Desk on the first floor
- Fill out the form, sign it and return the form to the librarian at the Information Desk
- You may also request interlibrary loans by e-mail
Loan periods and fees
- The lending libraries set the loan periods
- The general loan period is 4 weeks
- The loan period for Course Books may be only 14 days or shorter
- A € 5.00 fee per item will be charged for each Interlibrary loan requested
- Copies of articles € 5.00 per item or more
Returning or renewing items
- Interlibrary loans should be returned to the Library Information Desk
- Please ensure that you return the material by the date shown on the interlibrary loan wrapper
- if you have difficulties in returning the items on the due date, you may request for renewal at the Library Information Desk, Phone: (06) 7863 273, e-mail: fjarrlan[at]jakobstad.fi.
- Renewal is normally possible unless the book is requested by another reader. In this case, the loan must be returned immediately.
Lending to Other Libraries
- Requests may be made by phone or e-mail.
- The loan period is 4 weeks
- We will in most cases charge a fee for items sent to other libraries
- The borrowing library pays for postage when returning an item
- The following items are not available for loan: Course Books, Reference Materials, Theses, Books from the Special Collections of the library
